December 21st 2011 A happy Winter Solstice to all! And apropos our ancient pagan high festival; the book Sorcery and Religion in Ancient Scandinavia by Varg Vikernes has at long last been released, and it is recommendable reading beyond all expectations! Whether you are Scandinavian yourself or of any other tribe, this book will teach you valuable knowledge about ancient European spirituality and worldview. It even contains a strict review of Völuspá with lots of fresh thought and very convincing hypotheses about the actual meaning of this old poem. The book in general does away with the Christianized interpretation of the ancient European myths and spiritual rituals and presents a plausible alternative. It might very well change the way we look at our forefathers and their customs.
